Sanford A. Greenhouse, MD
Dr. Greenhouse has been practicing medicine since 1976. He earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond and completed both his internship and residency at George Washington University Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Shortly after completing medical school and his residency, Dr. Greenhouse practiced in La Jolla for two years and then joined Gales Ferry Medical Group in 1978.
Dr. Greenhouse was employee Medical Director at Pfizer in Groton, Connecticut from 1979 to 1989. From 1994 to 2003, Dr. Greenhouse also served as the Medical Co-Director at the Convalescent Center in Niantic, Connecticut. From 2003 to 2006, he was the Medical Co-Director of Beechwood Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in New London, Connecticut. In addition, he has been Vice-President of Colonial Cooperative Care since 2000.
Dr. Greenhouse is the Vice President of the New London County Medical Society and a member of the Connecticut State Medical Society.
John J. Hennessey, MD
Dr. Hennessey completed his undergraduate education in 1991 at Syracuse University in New York, where he graduated with honors. In 1999, he earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts. He then moved to Denver, Colorado where he performed his internship and residency in internal medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
After completing his residency, Dr. Hennessey moved back to the east coast and joined Gales Ferry Medical Group in 1999. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
Dr. Hennessey is the Medical Director at Avalon Healthcare Center, in Stonington.He has also been the medical director of Groton Regency Center since 2005.
Dr. Hennessey is a member of the New London County Medical Society, Connecticut State Medical Society and of the American College of Physicians. From 2004 to 2006, he was a member of the Medical Executive Committee at Lawrence & Memorial Hospital, and he was a member of the Pharmacy Committee from 2008 to present.
Mary Murphy-Fiengo, DO
Dr. Murphy-Fiengo has been practicing medicine at Gales Ferry Medical Group since 1995. She received her undergraduate degree in biology at LaSalle University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, a master's degree from Drexel University in Philadelphia, and her medical degree from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Murphy-Fiengo completed her residency in internal medicine at Hahnemann University Hospital (Philadelphia) in 1992, where she then served as assistant professor of clinical medicine from 1993 to 1995.
Dr. Murphy-Fiengo is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She is a member of the New London County Medical Society, Connecticut State Medical Society and of the American College of Physicians.
Dr. Murphy-Fiengo is currently the assistant medical director of Groton Regency Center. She has held her position at Groton Regency Center since 2009.
Catherine Krenicky, APRN
Ms. Krenicky has been an Adult Nurse Practitioner since 1991. She received both her Bachelor and Master degree in nursing from Boston College, in Chestnut Hill, MA. She is certified in Adult Health by the ANCC.
From 1991-1997, Ms Krenicky was practicing with a medical group in Jamaica Plain, MA. She then moved to Connecticut and spent 6 years with a practice in Groton, CT. In 2003, she took time from regular practice to be with her children. During this time she worked for Apple Health Care in long term care. Ms. Krenicky joined Gales Ferry Medical in 2009.
Lori Lynn Ciccone MHS, PA-C
Ms. Ciccone received her Masters of Health Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Quinnipiac University in 2007. She received her undergraduate degree in Biology from Central Connecticut State University.
Prior to joining Gales Ferry Medical Group, Lori worked as a hospitalist at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London, CT from 2012-2018. She has also practiced in an outpatient diabetes and endocrinology clinic.
Lori has a special interest in working with diabetes management and has earned an advanced credential as a Certified Diabetes Educator. Lori lives with her husband Mike and their Siamese cats in Salem, CT.
